Interior—Japanese Paper for Shoji and Fusuma
Shoji paper—translucent Japanese paper used to cover frames—and fusuma paper—textured, colored, and patterned washi for sliding doors and as wallpaper—are the traditional Japanese interior papers. We import all shoji and fusuma papers ourselves from Japan, mostly directly from the manufacturers.
Modern Japanese Papers in Interior Design and Decor
MADOCA, the most tear-resistant Japanese paper for shoji screens, curtains, and lampshades, is available exclusively at Takumi. MADOCA is produced in Japan exclusively on our behalf and, of course, imported directly by us. We also import shoji paper, Minowashi, and ITO shoji paper—which features a mesh texture—directly.
